Emmaus
What is the Walk to Emmaus?
I am so glad you asked. This is a spiritual renewal program meant to strenghten the church and build leadership skills for people to go back into their churches to do God's work. This is a 72 hour weekend that is a short coarse in Christianity. There are 15 talks during the weekend, 10 are by members of the Emmaus Community and 5 talks are by Clergy. The weekend contains, worship, holy communion, singing, food, and time to meet many new friends.
This weekend is based on the bible verses Luke 24:13-35 when the three men walked along the road on the way to Emmaus talking with Jesus but they did not recognize him until the breaking of the bread. They learned to walk with the Holy Spirit, to proclaim the gospel to disbelievers and to fellowship with other Christians.
The Walk to Emmaus is sponsored by the The Upper Room but it is held in a non-denominational setting for all Christians.
