"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"
Romans 3:23

Welcome to our church!

Welcome to Lanes Chapel.  Our mission is to assist people in coming to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. Our mission is to glorify God through the communication of the Gospel, the education of God's people, and the fellowship of believers through the demonstration of love and acceptance in the spirit of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to maintain that close, personal, friendly, and loving fellowship of "family" that attracted us to Lanes Chapel in the first place and to never lose it. Finally, our mission is to celebrate what the risen Lord has done, is doing, and is going to do through our unrelenting faith in Him.

Church Family & Guests:

I just want to take a moment of your precious time to recognize some hard workers in our church family.  You know with my tiny little brain I will inadvertently forget someone but I want to say a big “thank you” to some of our family.

First off, I want to say thanks to Bob Green, what a precious spirit he has. He has a servant’s heart and is doing an awesome job with our Senior ministry. You will be hearing more about his newly assigned ministry, but if you haven’t been yet, plan NOW to attend the dance in JulyPatrick Odom is providing the music and he is awesome.

Carl Sadler, whom we honored on June 13th, may be the most talented and humble piano player I’ve had in my ministry. The first one I had a looooong time ago was a sweet little 80 year old who could only play two songs and we sang them EVERY Sunday. Carl has a gift from God for music and we are blessed to have had him for 14 plus years.

Viki Munn is one of our most faithful workers in the church. Mrs. Viki tirelessly and faithfully prepares a children’s sermon for our most dear resource in the church, our children. Thank you Mrs. Viki for an outstanding job.

Jo Ann Hall is our Director of Finance. She is amazing and has organized our finances in a remarkable manner. Our former treasurer, Rittie Roeder was so wonderful and Jo Ann just stepped right in a carried on the awesome job that Mrs. Rittie had started. Jo Ann has a team-spirited heart and has taken over duties that were not required of her because she LOVES the church and people.  She did so with a positive attitude ALL THE WAY (something that always amazes me!!!).

Judy Woolley is our Director of Children’s Ministry. Judy works diligently and devotedly to make sure that the nursery areas are clean, inviting, and staffed with well-trained workers. She has done a marvelous job with our Vacation Bible School.  By the way, for those of you who volunteered for our Bible School, I send a big thanks to you as well. I really hate to miss it because I had a ball last year but this year I will be in Daytona, Florida with our youth.

Finally, I want to say a great big thank you to T.C. Smith. T.C. gets here early EVERY Sunday and makes the coffee, heats up the pies, sets up the coffee bar in the foyer, gets mine and Jabo’s water, and then takes up the offering. If you looked up “faithful” in the dictionary, there would be a picture of T.C. I also want to thank David McPherson for faithfully taking up the offering at the early service every Sunday.

This list is by no means complete, but these dear people came to my mind this month.  To all of these dedicated members and all of you, I just want to encourage you to “keep on keeping on”There are many more in our family just as dedicated and many more who are waiting for their calling.  I can’t reward you but I serve a God who can and I am asking Him to do it for me.

To the rest of our family at Lanes Chapel, thank you for your faithful attendance and stewardship. I love you all.

Love and Prayers,

Bro Lou
